- Traditional booth: Full acoustic insulation. Provides better audio quality to the end-user. Dimensions: 1.6 m x 1.6 m x 2.2 m. Installation time: 45 minutes.
- Portable booth: Mounted on top of a table. However, it provides less acoustic insulation. Recommended for events of up to 100 participants. Installation time: 15 minutes.
- In-person simultaneous interpretation: This method provides the audience with the speaker’s message in real-time, using an interconnected system between the booth and the audio receivers (headphones).
- Remote simultaneous interpretation: This option delivers the speaker’s message to the audience in real-time using a videoconferencing platform. All participants need to have internet access and devices that meet the platform’s technical requirements. We recommend using Zoom. This option is recommended for any remote activity, from small meetings to conferences and seminars.
- Consecutive interpretation. With this alternative, the speaker’s message is delivered to the audience, with pauses. It is recommended for events with small groups (up to 10 people). However, please note that as everything has to be said twice, the event will take about twice as long as it would without consecutive interpretation. Should this be an issue for you, we recommend that you choose simultaneous interpretation.
- Whispered interpretation. This modality is individual simultaneous interpretation, in which the interpreter delivers the message one-on-one without the support of equipment.
- Contact interpretation. This alternative is used to support foreigners in one-on-one meetings.
- Translation is when a written document is translated by the translator from the source language to the target language. This service is provided by a professional translator, who specializes in writing in the target language.
- Meanwhile, interpretation is a spoken service, transferring verbal content from the source language to the target language. This is done by one or more interpreters who are specialists in clearly and accurately conveying what the speaker says. Interpretation can be performed in five different modalities: in-person simultaneous, remote simultaneous, consecutive, whispering, and contact.
- The infrared system* is a wireless transmission technology that uses infrared light waves. Its practical features include high stability and fidelity. The system also provides confidentiality, as the signal’s reception is restricted to the sector delimited by the antennas. Assembly time: 45 minutes. A minimum number of 100 receivers.
*Subject to technical feasibility, it is not suitable for outdoor use or in environments with too much natural or artificial light (stages, TV, etc.).
- Radiofrequency system: This uses radio wave wireless transmission technology, with a range of up to 100 meters in an open space. It can be used onsite, and it is quick and simple to assemble. Installation time: 15 minutes.
- You need to define the interpretation modality for your activity.
- If it is a simultaneous interpretation, you will need to define the technology (infrared or radio frequency) and the type of setup (portable or traditional).
- You also have to decide how many people will take part.
- You need to look at the venue’s characteristics (the space available and the amplification capacity).
- You also need to prepare a program for the event (topic, schedules, nationality of speakers, and participants).
- These consider the number of words and the rate applied. The latter depends on the languages, the complexity of the content, the format, and the deadline.
